Walker identifies transparency and unity as a key issue in council race
The upcoming election, in which two seats are at stake, follows years of public and media scrutiny of the City's finances, Employee issues, internal council conflicts and quality water issues. Transparency remains a key focus in the race to represent Groveland as Mayor District 1 on Groveland's City Council. Newcomer Chris Walker has made open government the focal point of his campaign in the November election for the District 1 seat.
“My focus continues is to bring transparency and winning the community’s trust back, working on engaging our citizens in shaping the future and economic development,” Walker said. “Our City has seen a lot of unethical representation for a while, and its time for common sense accountability." Its time that politicians realize that they are working for the public and not the powerful. Groveland has become a place for growing young families and we need to make sure that our City Facilities such as parks, recreation and dining excel so we bring those tax dollars to Groveland.
Groveland is a unique place that has attracted many from various backgrounds which makes it a melting pot of great Cultures.
